The "Narrows"
Parunuweap Canyon (Parunuweap is a Native American word for "Canyon of Rushing Waters") is the main canyon of the Ranch. It extends from the Ranch, through Wilderness Study Area, to Zion National Park. The East Fork of the Virgin River flowes through this canyon. You can hike all the way down through the canyon, and down the water fall into Zion, or hike back up to the Ranch, exploring many side canyons and even Native American ruins as you go. This is an all-day, or even two-day hike. This advanced level hike is one of the more popular hikes in the western United States.
